Sandra Mathes, LCSW top therapy clinic in little rock

Hello, my name is Sandy Mathes and I am a Clinical Therapist at Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas. Let me introduce myself.

I graduated from the University of Arkansas Graduate School of Social Work and have been practicing for over 45 years. Though I was born in Oak Harbor, Washington, I consider Little Rock my home having lived here since graduating from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1975.

I have had a wonderful career throughout Arkansas having moved around the state with my husband. My most memorable opportunities have been with the foster care system in central Arkansas, with therapeutic foster home services in the northern part of Arkansas, as well as with residential treatment programs throughout the State.  I have supervised graduate interns, supervised case managers, and have been the Director at an emergency shelter for boys. I have presented clinical information at many workshops in Arkansas as well as in New York City. I have taught intensive family services/parenting criteria throughout the state. And I have worked at various school-based programs throughout Arkansas. These experiences, in my career, have enabled me to claim substantial experience as a therapist for doing individual therapy, family therapy and group therapy.

Sandy is a licensed clinical therapist who loves working with both adolescents and adults. Her treatment is individualized to meet the needs of each specific circumstance disrupting one’s emotional stability.

Sandy likes to quote, “dreams have no deadlines,” and uses this message to support and encourage patients.

She is dedicated to her patients and is available to help them resolve emotional difficulties. Sandy chose to work at Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas because of the caliber of professional staff, the integrity of the corporation and the service mission that puts patients first. Sandy encourages all people needing someone to help them with life difficulties to consider seeking services from her agency.

For the past 8 years, I have been focused on doing individual and family therapy for Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas in Little Rock, Arkansas.  As an outpatient therapist, I see individuals in the office Monday through Thursday and do only telehealth off site on Fridays. I specialize in areas of depression, grief, anxiety, mood disorders, phase of life difficulties, chronic illnesses, anger management, attention deficit disorders and difficulties in interpersonal relationships.

At some point in life, people face circumstances that undermine one’s resilience to manage in their day-to-day activities. Therapy is an option to assistance individuals in learning skills to cope, to manage, to process, to restart, to understand and to reset their “navigation course” of action. I possess the skills to assist people in living their best lives when issues are thought to be insurmountable.

To all people searching for answers, I encourage you to consider therapy as an option. I offer myself, as an opportunity to feel better about your circumstances, knowing someone pledges to help you with the expertise of therapeutic intervention.
