At BHSA, we provide counseling for couples to help improve your relationship dynamics and work through issues both inside and outside of your relationship. No matter what brings you to us, our relationship therapists can help you and your partner build a happier, stronger connection.
We believe in helping couples not just to get by, but build their relationship on a firm foundation that can withstand future tests. Instead of simply helping couples through a crisis, you’ll receive the tools you need to move forward.
Our hope is for couples like you to experience less frustration and enjoy more confidence in each other as you face day-to-day challenges, hard seasons, and hurts.
Nobody has a relationship free of hurt with perfect communication. However, even if a couple is struggling, couples therapy can help you reconnect and build a more harmonious dynamic, where empathy and compromise are possible. At Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas, we accept most insurances including Medicaid.
A couples counselor can help couples deepen their connection by facilitating deeper conversation between them.
This can be beneficial for helping couples understand each other's perspectives, strengthen their emotional bond, and work through issues that may be causing conflict in their relationship. A counselor might help you to identify and address your emotions to improve communication and strengthen the bond between you and your partner.
A counselor may also help you find solutions to specific problems in your relationship, such as communication problems or financial issues. Sometimes we work to identify patterns of behavior or underlying fears and emotions from past events that may be causing problems in your relationship and help you address them in a safe space.
We accapt couples of all backgrounds and at any stage in their relationship, because we want every couple to have a chance at a healthy future.
Couples counseling may be a wise decision if you find yourself or your partner:
Couples therapy may last 45 minutes to 1 hour per session, and can be in person or via telehealth. The length of treatment, however, is dependent on you.
Some couples continue in therapy to help maintain their relationship, while others meet their goals in 3-6 months.
Another factor for length of treatment is finances and insurance, depending on what coverage a couple has and how much you are able to take on independently.
Couples therapy is typically intended to help you through one or more of the following issues:
Couples therapy offers an opportunity to strengthen communication, conflict resolution skills, and the emotional bond between partners. Relationship therapy has also been found to be an effective treatment for a wide range of relationship woes, including infidelity and financial distress.
Couples therapy can be really effective at improving your individual emotional and physical health. So be open to getting influenced by your partner or by one of our therapists, and be excited about learning new things.
